The Cast

Trey Carty plays both old Simon Starkweather and Bensonhurst.  Mr. Carty is a sophomore and has been in the Jenkins drama program for the past two years. 

Ethan Carty plays detective, Mike Davis.  Mr. Carty is in 7th grade and is new to the drama program.  He is principal trumpet in the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Band.  He is also a member of the academic team on the A/B Honor Roll.    He loves music, and bringing trumpet back to the family! 

Jacob Kelly plays Simon Starkweather III. Jacob is currently in 9th grade and is new to the world of drama.   Mr. Kelly is also a member of the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Band.  He has been a member of the KMEA District Honor Band and on the JMHS Honor Roll. 

Baleigh Roberts plays Minerva Walker. She is a freshman and is new to the drama program this year. Miss Roberts is a trumpet player in the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Bands and is on the Honor Roll. Her favorite food is spaghetti, and she loves her cat more than anything, of course! 

Laura Collins plays Nurse Withers. She is a sophomore and has been in the drama program for two years. She is a clarinetist of the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Bands.  She loves her cat Maxwell more than people. 

Jessica Gross plays Lois Van Zandt, Mr. Starkweather's attorney as well as another greedy opportunist.  She is in 10th grade and has been a member of the the drama program for the pat two years.  Miss Gross played Corky Lion in Dr. Nancy. 

Arissa Mullins plays Fiona Starkweather, one of the Starkweather heirs.  She is currently in 8th grade and is new to the drama program. Miss Mullins is a flautist in the Cavalier Winds Marching Band and Advanced Winds.  

Lilly Feltner is playing Nancy Pollard, a shy maid. She is currently a sophomore has been in the choir and band. This is her second year in the drama program.  Miss Feltner played ____ is “Dr. Nancy”.  She also loves singing and music.

Jimmy Hall plays rich playboy, Jordan Starkweather. Mr. Hall is a junior and has been acting in drama programs for many years. This past summer, he performed lead role, Chad Buford, in The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come this year, a company he has been a part of for the past seven years. He is also a member of the Cavalier Winds Marching Band and Advanced Band, as well as the drama program.  He was the 2018 Poetry-Out-Loud winner.  

Hannah Robbins plays southern belle, Paula Thompson. She is currently a junior and a member of the Cavalier Winds Marching Band and Advanced Band.  She is the winner of the Tipton Outstanding Soloist Award and earned positions in the KMEA District Honor Band and the UVA Wise Jazz Honor Band.  She is a member of the A/B Honor Roll and is in her second year in the Jenkins Drama Program.  She plans to major in music education at UK.  In her free time, she quilts and dresses up like Spiderman! 

Gage Wiseman plays handyman,  Rufus Jones and is currently a senior.  Mr. Wiseman plays trombone, euphonium and tuba in the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Bands.  He has been a member of the KMEA District Honor Band and the UVA Wise Jazz Honor Band.  He currently plans to major in music education at UVA Wise. 

Kaleigh Cook  Kaleigh plays Kathy Collins and is in 8th grade. She is new to the drama program, but has been a member of the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced band for the past two years. Miss Cook was a member of the KMEA District Honor Band, but has decided she  blames everything on her reed! 

Summer Charles plays Miss Scarlet, Mr. Starkweather's housekeeper.  She is currently in 9th grade and in her first year in the Jenkins Drama Program. 

Bryson Bentley is our sound and light technician. Mr. Bentley is in 7th grade and is a member of the Cavalier Winds Marching and Advanced Band.  He is also a member of the academic and football teams. 

Ms. Collins is the Jenkins Independent Schools Director of Bands and Theatre.  Ms. Collins has taught in Kentucky, Kansas and South Carolina for the past 21 years.  She is principal saxophonist in the Sacred Winds Ensemble and the Winds of the Mountain Empire.  She earned her BME from Morehead State University, her MME from Wichita State University, and is currently pursuing her second master's degree in Education Administration from Georgetown College.  She is the Women Band Directors Association KY State Chair, a WBDI Foundation member, a member of the American School Band Directors Association, the National Band Association, Country Music Highway Arts, and the Kentucky Music Educators Association.  She currently serves as a marching band adjudicator throughout Kentucky and Co-directs the Appalachian Institute of Music.
